RECOVERY & WELLNESS SERVICES
The Greatest Wealth is Health
We have found preventive and recovery care is the future of medicine and a crucial part of our mission at Dorset Physio. Here are some of the Recovery and Wellness Services we offer.

Dry Needling is a highly effective form of physical therapy for the treatment of a multitude of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. Though it utilizes the same kind of needles, it is not acupuncture (traditional Chinese medicine). Instead, dry needling is based on neuro-anatomy and modern scientific study of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems.
Dry Needling is performed by inserting a very fine filament needle through the skin and into the deeper tissues that are considered trigger points to your pain. It works by causing a micro lesion within the pathological tissue thus breaking up shortened tissues, inhibiting a reflex arc from the nervous system to the tissue, normalizing the inflammatory response, and centrally mediating the pain. This mechanical and neuromuscular effect provides an environment that enhances the body’s ability to heal which ultimately reduces pain. Learn more about dry needling here:
KINESIOLOGY TAPING SERVICES
Kinesio taping is a type of athletic wrap that allows for free range of motion while supporting areas being treated, allowing you to perform daily tasks while healing injured muscles and tendons. Kinesio tape is breathable, water and sweat resistant and each treatment is capable of lasting for 3-7 days on average. We offer kiesiotaping services during your PT sessions or stop by for this service as a cash pay per body part.
NORMATEC COMPRESSION RECOVERY SYSTEM
Use after your visit or stop in between your visits. if you are a patient, your insurance may cover this service. Inquire for pricing.
ANNUAL PT EXAMS
As we all know, regular check-ups with our physician and dentist are extremely important if we want to be as healthy as possible. However, most people overlook another type of check-up that is also extremely important…… the Physical Therapy Annual Exam.
